  Those REVELATION BOOK changes in full

  a recent thread ( http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/11/139118/1.ashx ) raised the issue of charles taze russell not being the first president of the watchtower... it appears to be an argument of semantics because the society had a different name (as one poster pointed out in the thread).

  the watchtower society obviously has some embarassment over this issue because the amendments to the revelation book dealt with this :.

  Michael the Archangel?

  i know the official position of the society is that jesus christ is in fact michael the archangel.

  however, in searching their official website i can find nothing said at all about the subject nor does it appear the subject has been in print for a very long time.

  is this true or have i missed something?

  Watchtower Study/Bible Study...

  can you tell me why in your nwt of the bible john 20:28 says, "in answer tomas said to him, "my lord and my god!

  "" (captial g) to the resurrected jesus, however in john 1:1 it says, "in the begining the word was, and the word was with god, and teh word was a god.

  " (lower case g) and then since jws have said that he (jesus) is a creation (the first creation, archangel) in your very own nwt it says in john 1:3 "all things came into existence through him, and apart from him not even one thing came into existence.. it would seem to me that if all things came into existence through him, and apart from him not even one thing came into existence, then he must be god and not archangel.

  to everyone who is part of this forum.. i won't be on here for a while as i am seperating from my wife.

  i have found a place with a workmate.. thanks for your comments and support through difficult times.

  i am starting a new chapter in my life.. jw's have "destroyed" my life and seperated me from my friends and family.

  Okay, to my two questions. I figure I do it this way, because it's annoying to post something and realize I wanted to do another post, but couldn't.

  Okay first question (it's an easy one)

  1) When it comes to the watchtower study guides, I recall someone saying something before that they are to be returned as the meeting ended (to prevent them from being lost??) Can someone varify that? I'm just curious if people are allowed to bring them home at all or do they stay at the hall. If they are allowed to bring something home with them, what is it if it is not the months study booklet.

  I really hope that makes sense.

  2) Are JW's taught that they are going to be saved by just their works alone? The bible does say that it is by faith that we will be saved. Basicly we do not need works just faith?
  Then I came across this: James 2: 26 " For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also"

  so now we need faith and works?

  Can someone(s) help me make sense of this please?
